Apple Crisp Yogurt and Cottage Cheese Bowl (2024)

The phrase apple crisp is a universal way to make your mouth water, I’m sure of it. And while I should make clear I don’t ACTUALLY think this passes for apple crisp (don’t want you thinking I’m that far down the macro hole– that I don’t know up from down, or ice cream from cottage cheese.) BUT— it’s an apple-crisp inspired bowl. Starting with one of my all-time favorite breakfast combos: yogurt and cottage cheese.

Just combine everything in a bowl and give it a sprinkle of cinnamon. It’s low carb, and has enough protein to set your day up for success. And as we round the corner to fall, I can’t think of a better way to start any day than with the fall flavor of apples and cinnamon!

But also, personally, I want zero cooking before lunch sooooooo……

How to Make an Apple Crisp Yogurt and Cottage Cheese Bowl

You’ll need:

  • ½ cup low-fat cottage cheese (119 g)
  • ⅔ cup Two Good Vanilla Yogurt (150 g or one small container)
  • ¼ cup apples, diced small (50 g)
  • 1 Tbsp granola (10 g)
  • 1 Tbsp chopped white chocolate chips (5 g)
  • Cinnamon
  • Flake Salt
  • Drizzle of favorite sugar free syrup

Like I said, it really is as easy as combining all your ingredients and enjoying it. Start with your yogurt and cottage cheese, and then top with diced apples, granola, and chopped chocolate. Give it a sprinkle of cinnamon, a pinch of flake salt, and an optional drizzle of sugar free syrup. That’s it! And it’s so good.

A Few Things to Note

  • Knudsen low fat is my all time favorite cottage cheese but I know it’s not available everywhere. Good culture and Breakstone are other popular options!
  • Two Good yogurt is amazing because the sugar and carbs are SO low, without the addition of any artificial sweeteners like sucralose.
  • Of course the macros of different granolas will vary. But when you’re using just 10 grams, the differences are pretty negligible. I wouldn’t stress.
  • I NEVER use white chocolate in anything. But I ADORE it on the apple-pie carameled apple from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory…. So it just felt right in here! 5 grams is just enough to make it fun but not enough to burn through your carbs and fat.
